AOS Helps Ericsson Execute Corporate Strategy in the UK
ACG's UK division, plus consultancy ltd., has implemented AOS for dozens
of its clients in the UK and Europe.
Client
Ericsson is the world's leading supplier in telecommunications with the
largest customer base, including the world's top 10 operators. Since 1876,
Ericsson has been active worldwide and today operates in more than 140
countries.
Assignment
Ericsson approached plus consultancy to deliver a solution to consolidate
and analyze their worldwide accounts receivable position. "Every
country in western Europe used a different system" said Mark Peel,
Global A/R On-Line product manager. Ericsson required a solution that
would present a consistent picture of the debt position at a local and
global level using a secure and intuitive web-based tool.
plus consultancy had already worked with Ericsson in the UK delivering
a powerful and flexible EIS to financial users and a separate system to
cost center managers. They now turned their hand to delivering a strategic
application to meet corporate requirements in a very-short timescale while
maximizing ROI.
Solution
A working prototype was turned around in nine days. This allowed Market
Unit and Business Controllers to analyze their debt position with internal
and external customers using a browser. The technologies chosen were:
- The ACG Active OLAP Suite (AOS)
- Oracle Express
- Oracle 8i
Crucially, the application allowed users to view their aged debt by customer
and geography using a simple but powerful interface minimizing the need
for training. The real power of the application however, was in its ability
to "reach-through" and present invoice level information detail
once the high-level analysis had been performed and areas of interest
had been highlighted
The system is hosted in Sweden and has been rolled out to in excess of
twenty countries so far with at least another twenty on the horizon. In
Holland, the first country to embrace the application, the accounts receivable
of their two main customers was reduced by 12.5% and 63.9% respectively
in the first three months of use.
plus consultancy
plus consultancy is able deliver this kind of ROI by understanding the
importance of corporate strategy and knowing from experience how best
to implement it. Furthermore, the level of trust required to successfully
collaborate and make the project succeed comes from consistently delivering
high quality solutions to Ericsson.
