Our Microsoft Certified Professionals have extensive experience in all the Microsoft technologies that are involved in the development of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence solutions. These include:

SQL Server
ACG has implemented numerous SQL Server based Data Warehouse repositories built around either "star" or "snowflake" based schemas.
Unlike traditional On-line Transaction Processing (OLTP) based databases, which are normalized and optimized for fast update, OLAP relational repositories are highly de-normalized and optimized for fast retrieval. The design of these databases is a highly specialized skill that most OLTP oriented database administrators do not possess. ACG has had years of experience in developing databases tuned to support OLAP.
Analysis Services
ACG is a leader in the development of BI solutions centered around the use of multidimensional technology. Microsoft Analysis Services has become one of our key consulting specialties. We are experts in developing BI reports using the Multidimensional Extensions (MDX) scripting language and/or the OLE-DB/ADO object model. ACG was a charter developer using the Alpha and Beta releases of Microsoft Analysis Services. ACG remains an active participant in the testing phases of new releases.
Web and Client/Server Applications
ACG has been developing custom BI and DSS applications for over 15 years. For the past several years, we have developed the majority of these applications in Visual Basic and Visual InterDev.
Our web-based solutions rely heavily on Active Server Pages (ASP) and back-end generated HTML. We pride ourselves in building intuitive interfaces that allow end users to become easily proficient using the applications we develop.
Many of these applications leverage the Microsoft Office offerings (such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word) by producing output in the formats recognized by these products. This approach shortens the training phase, as the majority of end users are already familiar with these tools.
